Well, just ask community activist David Glenn of the Driving Park area. Glenn is the project director of a community garden on Ellsworth Avenue that's in its second year of cultivation. It's a product of the Driving Park Community Gardens Association and is one of two they operate.
Glenn believes community gardens are part of the answer to exercising some control over what goes on in your neighborhood. And, the garden on Ellsworth is serious business, indeed. They're growing kale, collard greens, okra, cucumbers, pole beans, lettuce, yellow squash and zucchini. Oh, yes ... and watermelon.
