Citing a desire to spend more time with his family, Jim Brown, the only person to head Casino Aztar during its 11 years in Evansville, confirmed he will step down as president and general manager of the riverboat and entertainment complex.

Brown said Thursday he plans to remain at the casino's top spot for four weeks to ease the transition for a new leader. The property is owned by Columbia Entertainment of Fort Mitchell, Ky., which acquired Aztar Corp. last year.
