Compensation of chief executive officers

Many corporate boards are adopting creative performance-linked CEO compensation strategies that reward CEOs for sound management while safeguarding shareholder interests. These innovative compensation packages include mega-grants to CEOs and CEO-owners, exchangeable annual incentives that can be swapped for stock options, leveraged and safety net options, and fixed-price variable-reward performance options. These compensation packages have one common denominator in that they allow CEOs to benefit from long-term growth in stock values through generous stock-based compensation.

It hardly matters who is talking or listening: The issue of CEO compensation seems to be an inexhaustible topic. How much is too much? It's not how much, but how! How high is too high?
