As retailers reported November sales figures, they found little to cheer, even following the mayhem of Black Friday. Ken Perkins, president of research firm Retail Metrics Inc., in Swampscott, Mass., said discounter Wal-Mart saw its same-store sales increase 3.4 percent in November, compared to November 2007, but the rest of retail suffered nationwide. Excluding Wal-Mart, Perkins said same-store sales were down 7.3 percent in November.
