Summary

In this dark new comedy from director Terry Zwigoff ("Ghost World"), ambitious art school student Jerome Platz (Max Minghella) goes to extremes to conquer the art world - and to get the girl. When his pure genius goes ignored and a brainless jock tempts his dream girl Audrey (Sophia Myles), Jerome sets in motion a brazen plan to become an art world hero and win Audrey's heart. It's "an awkward coming-of-age story, a scabrous take-down of art-world hypocrisy, and even a murder mystery in which a serial strangler preys on Strathmore's nascent aesthetes (which the filmmakers hardly regard as a bad thing)." (L.A. Weekly) John Malkovich as a quirky professor and Jim Broadbent as a vitriolic misanthrope are worth the price of admission alone.
