Summary
Morgan's is currently adding a Florida room complete with French doors. "We've had many requests for baby and bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and anniversary dinners, but we haven't been able to accommodate any of them since we have only one dining room," explains [Barbara Checkosky]. While the venue's current dinner patrons are in the 50- to 60-year-old range, she would like younger folks to give Morgan's a try.
"The hardest thing was to come up with a name for our place," admits [Jim Leonard]. A10-minute drive from downtown, the restaurant is in Elmhill Plaza, a little strip mall on the corner of Milton Avenue and Hinsdale Road, in a space formerly occupied by Benevento's. "We didn't want to be identified as an Italian restaurant, and after going through a lot of suggestions decided to name it after my grandmother, Cora Delia Baxter," he adds. Diners who have found this little gem call it "Camillus' best kept secret."Jim Cannella is the daytime chef at [Cora D]'s, with Ted Jandzio, a graduate of the Ted Krump school (currently the Institute for Culinary Education) in Manhattan, on board with Leonard in the evening. "The three of us have a good time playing and tinkering with dishes, and Ted usually is the one who smooths out the edges," says Leonard. "This is a time-intensive business, although you have to have fun. We're not flamboyant, but we're all passionate about food."See the full content of this document

They've been in business for a long time, too, offering second homes to customers who are welcomed by name, given their special table and perhaps presented with their favorite libation as soon as they sit down. Three restaurants to the west of the city fill that bill.Kelley's Bar and RestaurantJohn Kelley has al...See the full content of this document
