Summary
Like many insurance professionals, Peter A. Marshall, SVP for insurance broker DeWitt Stem, never planned to have an insurance career. But unlike most people in the industry, Marshall entered the world of insurance through his first love -- making movies. His efforts in securing insurance for his own projects made him think that insurance might be an interesting career move, and one that would take him home to New York. He joined DeWitt Stern in 2005, and created The Blend, a program that combines insurance with bonds, banking, and legal advice for independent filmmakers. Among the biggest challenges facing independent filmmakers are securing a completion bond and obtaining financing.
