In an interview, Rod Lasley, president and chief executive officer of North Salem State Bank, details his bank's commitment to IBA BANKPAC. Lasley's predecessor, John Colvin, created a culture of giving, and he has worked hard to continue and expand that culture. They certainly do not require employees to give, but they do explain the importance of BANKPAC and how it impacts their profession as bankers. Regarding why he is personally passionate about BANKPAC, he has seen issues resolved, thanks to relationships that lobbyists and bankers formed with members of the Legislature. To motivate employees to donate, the bank matches dollar-for-dollar what each employee donates to BANKPAC.
