"Fifty degrees? I'm bundled up. I don't give the cold a chance," says [FRED ALLISON]. "I try to be an energetic, outgoing guy but the cold just pulls my spirit down."

As a pharmaceutical sales representative for the drug behemoth Pfizer, [Cara Brooks] says she's in "corporate" clothing most of the week. Boring. She says she's more comfortable and can be more "ethnic" when she pulls out her threads for the winter, a time that she dates better because, "That's when you get all cuddly."

"Single people could conceivably have one more reason for being depressed in the winter," says Julie Ransom, executive director of the Pittsburgh Singles Volunteer Network. "It's Friday night, it's snowy out and you don't have a date."
