In reaching out to a younger generation of potential members, the league - along with America's Credit Union (the brand of the Credit Union National Association) - also was a proud sponsor of the Biz Kid$ financial education program that is airing on PBS in an effort to improve financial literacy. Some of the bill's provisions include: increasing credit unions' member business lending cap from 12.25 percent of assets to 20 percent; changing credit unions' capital requirements to more accurately reflect their general low-risk profiles; and allowing credit unions to once again serve designated underserved areas.
