Three independent telephone companies, Midwest Telnet, based in Westby; Tri-County Telcom, based in Strum; and Wisconsin Independent Network, based in Eau Claire, have joined forces to start Midwest Video Solutions LLC. * Bank of Eau Claire reported the area's top growth in net income, improving from $707,000 a year ago to $2.34 million in the first quarter of 2008. * Employers in west-central Wisconsin are expected to hire at a healthy pace in the third quarter of this year, according to the most recent Manpower Employment Outlook Survey. * The Chippewa Valley Regional Airport paid a third of the cost for staffing its control tower for the past year-and-a-half, but now the Federal Aviation Administration which previously said the airport had a 0.7 cost-benefit ratio - has declared that enough traffic went through Eau Claire in 2007 to justify full staff funding and gave CVRA a 1.16 cost-benefit ratio.
