Corporate welfare, kickbacks, white collar crimes, conflicts of interest, you name it, in Broward it's the rule and not the exception. State, federal, and local investigators and prosecutors have allowed Broward County to evolve into one of the most openly corrupt community's in the nation. The fat cats are getting plump while the poor suffer and to make matters worse, its being done with tax dollars. A look at the numbers will show that the poor, and us working stiffs, are losing ground in every segment of the economy while corporations, politicians and bureaucrats are getting filthy rich off 'taxpayers' dollars, no doubt. Its time for a meaningful change, and I for one have had enough of lying politicians and corrupt government employees. I think it's time to begin exposing these serpents.
Edward Mozie Howard, 26, of Lauderhill is being held on rape and first-degree murder charges related to the death of Christine Myers, an 18-year-old college student from Sunrise. Myers was found dead in the hallway of her apartment complex this week shortly after dialing 911 from her cell phone. Police says Myers was the girlfriend of Mozie-Howard's brother, who had left the two at the apartment while he made a trip to the store. When her boyfriend returned from the store, through a window, he saw Mozie-Howard raping her, but was unable to get inside to stop the brutal attack. While he went for help, Mozie-Howard beat and strangled Myers to death. Police say he has confessed.Several minority-owned companies may file complaints with the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), alleging fraud within the operations of the North Broward Hospital District's Office of Supplier Diversity. One black-owned pharmacy, for example, says the NBHD has "certified" the firm as a "minority vendor" for years, but has never awarded it any business. There are also allegations that OSD recycles its 1800 or so contracts among the same select circle of vendors and only certifies minority firms to use as data for filing with HHS and other agencies. The District settled a similar complaint that was filed with HHS in years past and now HHS could be asked to audit the Hospital District's minority contracting program and operations again.See the full content of this document
