Arizona Senate Primary Pits Pearce Vs. Gibbons

The primary race's outcome could have national implications as states are being forced to deal with illegal immigration in the absence of federal action. Arizona has taken the lead by enacting some of the strictest immigration laws in the country, and Pearce's fingerprints are on many of them. He authored, for example, the state law that suspends and then revokes licenses of businesses that knowingly hire undocumented workers.
