Mo Court of Appeals Finds Venue Improper in Discrimination Suit

Summary


The Missouri Supreme Court transferred an employment discrimination suit to Cole County on Tuesday, finding St. Louis City was the improper venue, even though it had already awarded the plaintiff $567,000.

The only connection of this case to the city of St. Louis is that some of the vacant positions were in the city, Judge Michael A. Wolff wrote for the majority. It appears that all of the acts - the receipt and review of applications, the interviews, and the decision making - all occurred in Cole County.
