Summary

The album, recorded, produced and mastered at Charlotte's Charles Eller Studios, features [ANDREW GILL] on bass, guitar, percussion and vocals. Garrett Duffy, of the aforementioned Barefoot Truth, lends some help with harmonica and is the only accompanist on the album.

Like his drumming, Gill's writing belies his intent to make great music and reveals a lack of experience. From the record's title track: Give to the poor, feed the lame, / take no more than you need / it's a crying shame.

There's something about this record - probably the fact that ifs all Andrew Gill - that leads me to believe he is a good live performer. As yet, he just hasn't fully translated the sound of his live show into a recording. But ifs a tough skill to master. Give him a little time, and you may soon find yourself playing Sancho Panza to this musical Don Quixote.
