Summary
Police originally reported [Walter Donlon]'s death as an accident but, later, opened a homicide investigation, fingering the couple's longtime property manager, Marvin CdeBaca, and caregiver, Clara Coss Carrillo, as "persons of interest." CdeBaca is accused of stealing as much as $500,000 from the Donlons' accounts as well as helping draft Teresa Donlon's will two weeks after her husband died when she was suffering from dementia. The will stipulated that CdeBaca would be given power of attorney over the estate, as well $50,000 in cash and all of the Donlons' personal belongings -believed to be worth approximately $128,000, according to the court file.
"It's still a homicide investigation," [John Boreth] says, adding that there is "more than one suspect." He adds, "The crime lab is backed up with DNA analysis. We've been told we'll get that by the end of June. By that time, we'll be able to get a better view of what really happened and who was really involved.""I'm not guilty, but I can't disclose all of the [financial] information because if it comes to a trail we have all the evidence," he says. "The police warrant is bogus," he adds, "it's a bunch of lies."See the full content of this document
