The University of Miami Black Alumni Society is committed to serving and uniting African American, African, Caribbean, Black, and African descended alumni for the purpose of providing networking bonds with Black students. The BAS was founded in 1989 by a dedicated group of alumni. As an affiliate group of the University of Miami Alumni Association, this organization strives to facilitate a comprehensive network among alumni, students, and faculty of the University in advancing the interest and needs of our community, and promoting the rich history of Black alumni at UM.
