Parents Advised to Keep Alert Letters Warn About Suicide

Summary


Letters were mailed Tuesday to parents of Castle High School's 1,750 students, advising them of emotional reactions to expect from their children in the wake of Monday's suicide by a 16-year-old student in the school's parking lot.

The letter also warns that if grieving symptoms persist for more than two weeks, parents should probably seek professional help for their children, said Sandra Mellis, Castle's director of guidance.
