In honor of Black History Month, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, in partnership with renowned producer Larry Rosen, will present the multi-Grammy Award-winning Count Basie Orchestra and Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Patti Austin together in concert for Jazz Roots: A Tribute to Ella and Basie on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 at 8 p.m., located 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami.
As the fourth installment of the six-show Jazz Roots series, A Tribute to Ella and Basie follows three sold-out performances and is expected to mesmerize concert-goers with transcendent jazz and big band hits by two of the genres' history-making pioneers - Ella Fitzgerald and The Count Basie Orchestra. Count Basie recorded with Ella Fitzgerald and, together, they greatly contributed to the changing sounds of jazz in the 40's and50s.See the full content of this document
