CHERITON - Anne Crumb Craft, 67, wife of Richard Craft and a resident of Cheriton, quietly returned home to the Lord Jan. 8, 2006, after a lifetime of touching peoples lives and hearts. Everyone whose path touched Annes, was enriched by the experience. In Annes world, everyone was treated with courtesy, compassion and respect. A native of the Eastern Shore, she was the daughter of the late Warner Pierce Barnes and the late Ida West Barnes.Anne worked in the Cheriton Post Office for 31 years, mostly as postmaster. She treated all her clients as friends, serving them with professionalism, a great deal of courtesy and a lovely sense of humor. After retirement, she attended LPN school at Shore Memorial Hospital and upon completion of the school and license requirements, she worked on the maternal child health unit at Shore Memorial Hospital. Once again, her skills with people as well as her professional ability and enthusiasm made her a great nurse. Still, not being satisfied, she was on her way toward completing the requirements for an RN diploma from the Eastern Shore Community College. Anne was a very active member of Cheriton United Methodist Church, participating in the choir and the Sunnyside Ringers.
