Summary
At 81, I have acquired enough good, bad and indifferent memories to qualify as a bush league Ancient of Days. For instance, I vividly recall the big freeze of 1917-18, when the Elizabeth River became a choppy mass of ice all the way to the Lamberts Point coal piers.
