wmc president's messageThe Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce Board of Directors, with guidance from all WMC members, unanimously endorsed this policy agenda for the 2007-2008 legislative session. This agenda is the cornerstone upon which we will build our advocacy efforts for the business community for the next two years.In early 2007, WMC is already seeing positive results in the public policy arena as Governor Jim Doyle has agreed to seek federal ozone redesignation for southeastern Wisconsin. Businesses in that industrial comer of our state have done their job in cutting emissions, and now Governor Doyle is asking the federal government for relief from what has become an onerous and unnecessary burden. Hopefully, that means more jobs for Wisconsin!And in the courts, WMC helped Menasha Corporation win an important appeals case clarifying taxation of customized software that could result in rebates to businesses of up to $350 million.
