Dan Gilliam

Virginia Beach artist Dan Gilliam recently likened the creative process to childbirth. He feels "pregnant" with inspiration for a couple of days prior to the "birthing" of a painting, he said. And as the creative spirit gestates inside of him, he described his preparations much like a bird lining its nest, only his materials are his canvas and paints, incense and music.
