Catherine L. Gucwa, 88, passed away March 14, 2004, in her home. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Gucwa was the daughter of the late Anthony and Teofelia Tyburski and the widow of Stanley Gucwa. She was a Catholic. She is survived by her daughter, Alice Pastore of Virginia Beach; a sister, Natalie Pieczul of New York City; and a grandson, Christopher Pastore of Virginia Beach.
Bernard A. Phelps, 81, passed away March 24, 2004, in Jacksonville, Fla. He was born in Norfolk and moved to Jacksonville, Fla., from Richmond, Va., in 1967. Mr. Phelps retired after 44 years of service with Seaboard Coastline Railroad.
