David W. Crago Sr.

David W. Crago Sr., 71, passed peacefully at his home Feb. 4, 2004. A native of Massachusetts, he was the son of Benjamin and Hazel (Hamel) Crago and was the second of five children. He was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God in Virginia Beach. Mr. Crago is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joan; his five children, David Jr., Cindy, Kathryn, Arthur and William; his nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many other loving family members.

Charles E. Onspaugh Sr.

Charles Edward Onspaugh Sr., 80, of the 4900 block of Erskine St., passed away Feb. 3, 2004, in Sentara Bayside Hospital. Charles was born July 1, 1923, in Meadville, Pa., and was the loving husband of Joann Onspaugh. He was retired from the United States Navy as a chief gunners mate after 20 years service and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Charles was also retired from R.K. Chevrolet. Thomas Edward Kavanaugh, 75, of the 5900 block of Lathan Road, went to be with the Lord Feb. 3, 2004, in the comfort of his home. Born June 8, 1928, to the late Edward and Frances Kavanaugh in Elmira, N.Y., Thomas joined the U.S. Navy where he served 22 years and retired as a chief warrant officer. He continued to work for 20 more years for the Commonwealth of Virginia in the Dept. of Labor. William Earl "Buddy" Gales, 69, of Roanoke, Va., and a native of Bynum, N.C., died Feb. 2, 2004, at Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach following a brief illness. Catherine Wilson of the 5600 block of Morris Neck Road died Feb. 3, 2004. A native of Stanford, Conn., she retired from the City of Virginia Beach.
