Meet the Sheriff

President's Message

The bill establishes a three year demonstration project to provide a continuum of health care and mental health services under Medicare, Medicaid, and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) for eligible adult and juvenile inmates with mental illness. The bill also includes those inmates with mental illness who may also have co-occurring and substance use disorders, through their stay in a local or county jail, or county-operated juvenile detention facility.
