Depressed After Deployment? There's an App for That.

The Department of Defense released a mobile app that will help service members adjust to life at home after returning from combat deployments. The app, called the Positive Activity jackpot, was developed by the national Center for Telehealth and Technology. It uses augmented reality with a smartphone GPS to help find nearby activities and diversions for someone used to the high-tempo of combat life.

Community Colleges Pack $3 Billion Economic Punch in Colorado

Pikes Peak Community College packs a $323 million economic punch to El Paso County, and that's just a portion of the $3 billion annual economic impact that community colleges bring to Colorado. The news comes from a report released by the Colorado Community College System, which is the governing body for the state's 13 community colleges and its 162,000 students.

Report: Lenders Working with Borrowers to Reduce Foreclosure

Short sales, loan modifications and other alternatives are driving down the number of foreclosures, according to a report released today from CoreLogic, a California analytics firm. Foreclosures are on the decline because banks are working with borrowers, home sales are increasing and prices are stabilizing, according to the report.

Foreclosure Activity Drops in El Paso County, State

Foreclosure activity dropped 13.3 percent from the same time last year in El Paso County in April. In metro counties across Colorado, foreclosure filings rose 7.3 percent from April of 2011, but foreclosure sales at auction dropped 36.2 percent.
