State Puts Schools in Five New Categories

The state Department of Education plans to release new data on Indiana schools this month, but some question whether the new information will help or confuse educators and parents. The state, for the first time, will put each of Indiana's 2,000 schools in one of five categories to measure progress. They are required under a law approved by the 1999 General Assembly.
