Officially, He's Always There [Corrected 05/13/05]

Bill Seilig had no plans of missing this year's St. Mary's Soccer Classic. He was there every day this weekend, wearing black shorts and a yellow collared shirt just like he has every Mother's Day weekend for the last 20 years. That's how long the tournament (formerly known as the Welborn Classic) has been around. Seilig's been around that long, too, officiating soccer at every level, and especially looking forward to the Mother's Day tournament in his own back yard.

But there's Mackey, a senior center fielder and leadoff hitter for Reitz who makes a nervous wreck of anybody who has to field any pitch she gets her bat on. All of them probabl...

Curtain Closes On Seven Ue Softball Careers

Win or lose, tears were going to flow on Sunday afternoon at Cooper Stadium for the University of Evansville softball team. Sure, it would've been better for the Aces to end their season with a win, instead of watching Illinois State's Tricia Gaither hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to lift the Redbirds to a 4-2 win.

Ue Offense Musters Little Against Bradley

The University of Evansville baseball team lost 5-1 to Bradley on Sunday at O'Brien Field, but it didn't lose a place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings. The Aces (32-16, 9-9) are tied for fourth with the Braves (26- 15, 9-9) in the MVC. Bradley owns the head-to-head tiebreaker, though, for seeding in the six-team MVC Tourney.
